Chicken and Wild Rice Soup
For a delicious soup that’s more like a meal, try our chicken and wild rice soup, made with Hormel® Premium chunk breast of chicken and Herb Ox chicken flavored instant bullion granules.
In a slow cooker, combine wild rice, shredded carrots, sliced celery, chopped onion, Herb Ox bullion and water. Cover and cook on low for four hours, or until rice is tender. Just before serving, combine heavy cream and flour. Slow stir the cream mixture into the soup, then add the chicken. Cook and stir for five minutes. Ladle into bowls and garnish with slivered almonds.
Pork Chops & Squash
Looking for something a little bit different? Try our easy pork chops and squash, featuring Hormel® Always Tender® boneless center cut pork chops. Slice half squash into one-inch thick slices. Place eight slices on the bottom of the slow cooker. Arrange two pork chops over squash. Repeat layering.
In a bowl, combine brown sugar, chopped green onions, melted butter, orange juice, Worcestershire sauce, grated orange peel and ground cinnamon. Stir until blended. Add ingredients to slow cooker. Cover and cook on low five to six hours, or until pork and squash are tender.
